Newest Deputy Chief, Wendell J. Shirley, now interim Chief, is a retired cop from Santa Monica California.
“I’m pleased to announce that Chief Shirley has agreed to serve as interim chief during this transitional period within the Bellevue Police Department,” said City Manager Miyake. “He has my full confidence and I look forward to working with him.”
I like his smile and direct look... but I haven't spoken to him and so far, he hasn't spoken to me about an obvious issue in *our* city
... sometimes investigators don't talk while they work.
We will see the fruit of any such labor for justice, in the public eye.
